Hi all ,glad to find your site,I'm just interested in learning picking for a hobby, and also if I get locked out, while practicing yesterday on my conservatory doors, I ran into a problem, as I got the barrel moving ,halfway 6 o clock,it stopped it seems that another pin popped up not allowing me to go any further can anybody tell me what's happening. I have been practicing on my conservatory doors because my neighbours back PVC door has no key.. I am just concerned that if this happens to my neighbour's door it may cause a problem. Any advice would be grateful.

Welcome aboard to the forum. May I suggest you have a quick read over the rules, especially the bit about not picking locks that are in use ;) It is quite easy to bugger up a lock via picking / raking and will only leave you with a hefty bill from a locksmith to fix it..... especially if they can tell you've had a go yourself ;)

Welcome aboard, some euro locks have trap pins to stop them being picked easily, that's why as hobby pickers we tend to not pick locks in use, especially if you aren't familiar with the lock makers set up inside....and it's against the site rules to discuss this as others have mentioned. :hee20hee20hee: :13:

Enjoy the forum :88:

Edit: if the core stops at 6 o'clock it's because the driver pins popped up slightly into the keyway gap, just pop a pick in the keyway upside down, all the way to the back, push the driver pins down and turn the core with the pick.

This is why we don't play with locks in use. To a hobbyist a lock is a toy. A lock in a door is doing a job.

No worries mate, no one's mad at you, we just need to be careful to distinguish between hobbyist stuff and working security.

Getting carried away is pretty much required on here from time to time...

What you can talk about is the type of tools you have, we also like to see them! Take photos of picks , training locks , pry bars, etc, etc. There are plenty of pickers who do like a chat.
