Hello,

Im just starting to learn about lock picking and all the nuances that come with it. I find it a great outlet because you can focus on it for ages, although it does get frustrating!

Would love any tips on practicing and learning!

Welcome to the group mate. What pics and locks have you got to practice with so far?

Thankyou all for the warm welcomes! :D

Dont worry, im sure ill have tonnes of questions to come!

Ive got a pretty generic kit, doesnt seem massively high quality so I also have a few peterson hooks coming, hopefully they arive soon!

Ive also got a few locks ive scrounged from people, again more are in the mail!

Im not sure how to upload an image for you guys to see, but ive managed to get all but two of my locks open, however I am struggling on those two.

One is an old Yale lock which I dont have a key for so im not even sure it works (not too much issue)
The other is an ASSA ABLOY Corbin padlock, and it has been giving me nightmares!

I can get it into a false set, but past that I cant seem to unlock it :(

Hopefully once the new picks and locks come I can practice more and open this bitch of a lock!

To add images, click on the Full Editor & Preview tab, scroll down and you should see an Attachments tab over to the left handside, click on it and the click the Add files tab. Browse to your image, select it and click on open, and then click place inline. Hope this helps.

+1 For the pic :)

That's a nice Yale padlock you've got there.

Check if the core turns freely, if you don't have a key, use a tensioner. Run a pick over the pins to make sure they all move, have a good feel around in there.

Great to have you here, you’ve come to the right place to continue your Lockpicking journey. So many knowledgable and generous people on here. Post lots of pictures, ask lots of questions and get involved.

That Corbin looks a beast, I always struggle with them but +1 for your perseverance!!

See you around,
